Travel

We are so excited to invite you to celebrate our wedding in Italy! We will be getting married at Il Borgo di Vignamaggio in Tuscany, Italy, September 4-7. We have included additional information below to help you coordinate your travel decisions.

Accommodations and Reservations

We have reserved rooms for all wedding guests directly at our venue, Il Borgo di Vignamaggio – there is a 3-night minimum stay (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night). We purposefully chose this weekend as Monday is Labor Day, which we hope allows everyone a bit more ease with travel and recovery time! Please book your room directly on our wedding website under the “accommodations” tab.

Flights and Transportation

We recommend flying into the Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR) as this is a 45-minute drive from the wedding venue. We also highly recommend renting a car. The venue is located in the countryside, and while transportation will be provided to and from all wedding events, having a car will allow you to explore the town, visit local attractions, and easily connect with other guests (as some accommodations are slightly spread out). Taxis and private drivers may also be arranged to and from the airport. Alternatively, if you’d prefer a direct flight option from the United States, the Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is a 3-hour drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside. We’ve traveled both ways – both are equally enjoyable!

Itinerary

The Week Leading Up to The Wedding

The venue will be undergoing preparations. If you arrive early, we recommend exploring Florence – we will provide a list of recommended hotels, restaurants, and attractions below. Alternatively, come visit charming Panzano in Chianti and stay at La Pensione di Vignamaggio, located just five minutes from the wedding venue (part of the same estate).

Tip: If you stay locally, we suggest a reservation at the nearby world-famous butcher’s restaurant, Officina della Bistecca.

Friday, September 4th

Check in will open for all guests at 3:00 PM at Il Borgo di Vignamaggio. Official festivities begin Friday night at 6:30 PM with a welcome dinner. This is held at a sister restaurant, La Fattoria di Vignamaggio, five minutes away; shuttles will be provided. Dress code: Italian Summer Cocktail Party.

Saturday, September 5th

Explore at your leisure during the day – please see our website for recommended activities and excursions or enjoy a day lounging at the pool. The wedding ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM – shuttles will be provided, plan to arrive early for a pre-ceremony drink. Dress code: Black Tie Optional.

Sunday, September 6th

Following breakfast and some relaxation time, enjoy an afternoon Pool and Pizza Party. Sitting in the sun not your jam? No worries – we will have a list of alternate excursions you can book such as wine tastings, cooking classes, truffle hunting, and more. Dress code: Pool Party Casual.

Monday, September 7th (Labor Day)

After a final Tuscan breakfast, all guests will check out and depart by 11:00 AM. Arrivederci!
